Casey's Hotel History:

From 1887-1915, Michael Casey was the popular and well-known publican.

The following is from the Australasian Brewing World (Jan. 18, 1901):

"One of our representatives recently had the pleasure of calling upon Mr. Michael Casey, the gentle and popular proprietor of Casey's Hotel, at the corner of Liverpool and George Streets, one of the most centrally situated houses in Sydney. The building has recently been re-painted and enlarged considerably, and now has a particularly handsome appearance.
Mr. Casey, a gentleman well known to all the trade in Sydney, has occupied the site of this hotel for the past 14 years, which goes to prove the high esteem in which he is held.
The house contains ample accommodation for country visitors, and the tariff is moderate, it is always well patronised. There are public and private bars, dining-rooms, and a couple of excellent billiard tables.
Mr. Casey has always had the reputation of selling only the best brands of liquors and for conducting his house in a thoroughly orderly and respectable manner, and it is, therefore, not surprising that he has gained such a large amount of public patronage.
Anyone requiring a case of assorted liquor, or even a bottle of any brand of wine, spirit or beer, should not forget that there is a bottle department connected with this hotel, where the proprietor sells all brands at an extremely low figure, and makes a specialty of supplying parcels of assorted liquors at wholesale prices."
